It’s impossible to imagine a freight exchange without cargo containers. Actually, every moment there are 20 million containers float the oceans all over the world! That is because freight services are considered much greener transportation than trucks or planes. Also, transporting products by sea is a far cheaper option than air freight.
Shipping containers are inevitable in the transportation industry, but it is possible to live in one of them? Maybe a large cargo container doesn’t seem like a dream house, but containers have a lot of advantages. As a matter of fact, there is a whole trend of container homes.
The lifespan of an average container in shipping service is 12 years, but most of them can last between 25 and 30 years. The best way to recycle it is to reuse it, but this time as a place to live. Turning containers to home can be expensive if you choose a high cube container that is bigger than a regular one (20-40 feet tall). On the other hand, it is easy to install and to maintain.
